Overview
Launching Africa’s Road to Prosperity
Join Jakkie Cilliers in Johannesburg for a conversation about the choices that could shape Africa’s future.
Africa’s prosperity is neither guaranteed nor beyond reach. It will be shaped by the choices made today.
On 3 September, Jakkie Cilliers, founder of ISS and head of AFI, will launch his new book, Africa’s Road to Prosperity: 10 Things to Know, at Exclusive Books Rosebank. In conversation with Jillian Green, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Maverick, he will explore what it will take to unlock faster, more inclusive growth across the continent—and why Africa’s future trajectory can still be changed.
Drawing on decades of research into Africa’s development prospects, the book identifies ten priorities that could advance prosperity and improve the lives of millions. It offers an accessible, evidence-based account of where Africa stands, what is holding it back and what governments and societies can do differently.
Join us for an evening of ideas and discussion about the decisions that will define Africa’s road ahead.
Africa’s Road to Prosperity is published by Tafelberg and Jonathan Ball, and available from bookstores across South Africa and internationally through Amazon.
