Overview
The African Futures and Innovation Programme (AFI) at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) is honored to collaborate with UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa (RBA) and the African Union Commission (AUC) in the launch of the groundbreaking report, Advancing Inclusive Development: Policy Options for Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gabon, Mali, and Niger. This report represents a vital partnership between the Africa Facility to Support Inclusive Transitions (AFSIT) and AFI, combining regional expertise and foresight to address one of Africa’s most pressing challenges.
In recent years, the resurgence of unconstitutional changes of government (UCG) has placed considerable pressure on regional stability and cooperation efforts, particularly in West Africa. Advancing Inclusive Development seeks to navigate these complex political transitions by offering actionable policy options across immediate, medium and long-term horizons. The report underscores development as a cornerstone for promoting inclusive governance, fostering resilience, and strengthening democratic systems in the face of instability.
To complement the launch of this forward-looking report, the RBA invites you to further celebrate the insights and achievements of the #IAMSahel campaign. This immersive presentation will blend data, storytelling, and the voices of the region's creative and resilient youth, showcasing the Sahel's untapped potential and inspiring a vision of possibility and promise for the future.
