Overview
Although gender equality has been a long-standing subject in development policy debates, there is still disagreement about its impact on economic growth and development.
The seminar will present the Institute for Security Studies’ African Futures programme’s latest gender report. The study examines current gender trends in Africa and models the potential impact of reducing gender inequalities more rapidly on the continent’s development prospects. This seminar will offer insights for African leaders and policymakers to help overcome obstacles hindering women’s contributions to development.
This seminar is co-hosted by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and AUDA-NEPAD. It is the third of four events in the Erudite series on Forecasting African futures: empowering African Union (AU) member states.
