From risk to resilience: how do we get there?
This workshop explores climate adaptation and resilience through an innovative ‘act, learn and adapt’ approach.
Overview
Decades of research revealed Nine Universal Roadblocks preventing implementation of practical lessons learned when transitioning from a risk-based approach to one that puts resilience first. This interactive workshop will unpack South Africa’s climate risks and development trajectory, and seek feedback from participants about the Nine Universal Roadblocks and how to overcome them.
This workshop is co-hosted by the Climate and Disaster Resilience Fund (CDRF), Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Daily Impact Emergency Management (DIEM) Network.
Moderator: John Lomberg, Executive Director, CDFR
Panelists:
- Dr Eelco H Dykstra, Managing Director, DIEM, The Hague, Netherlands
